Mrs. Bennet showed that she was not a very bright woman and that she wanted more than anything to see her daughters married in the opening scene of the novel, and in her discussion with her husband. Her whole purpose in the novel was to get her daughters married, but she was dumb. She even takes pride when Lydia was married to George Wickham even though Mrs. Bennet knew little about him. Lydia is also another character whose impression was accurate. Lydia Bennet was sixteen years old and her only interest was flirting with the officers stationed in town. Her wild ways would eventually lead her in to an unexpected and fast marriage to George Wickham. Like her mother, she had little common sense from the beginning, and she almost disgraced the entire Bennet family. ...
