Instead of buying multiple sets of clothes for school, you can buy fewer uniforms and still have to enough to wear to school without spending a fortune on clothes. School uniforms have shown to decrease many of the issues schools face throughout the year. "They make a big difference," says Peggy Hill, of Sterling High School in Houston, Texas, "they take the peer pressure away from the kids. You're not having to deal with clothing issues. It takes the focus off dress and clothing, and it lets kids focus on the real reason they're in school."# Not only do they decrease the amount of time children focus on what everyone is wearing, they have been known to decrease drug uses in school, truancy, weapon usage, and attendance. “In the five-year period since the implementation of the school uniform initiative of the Long Beach Unified School District, the District claims to have had remarkable improvement in a number of areas. For example, the crime rate on the K-8 school campuses has decreased by 86% and school attendance is at an all time high.
