... me. I was very disappointed, almost mad. After begs and pleas, I accepted the fact that I would be leaving the place I had called home for almost seven years and most importantly a school I had fallen in love with. This stunning news took me by surprise. The first question I had was not where we were moving, but why we were moving. After explaining that it would be less expensive to move the headquarters of North America to South Florida he further dismissed my plea to stay in the Bay Area. After accepting the fact that I would be relocating to the Miami area, I had begun researching schools in Broward County. I found a school that would be opening the upcoming school year. Cypress Bay High School, the schools name, I later learned, was overpopulated and had over five thousand students. There were so many freshman, they had to have their classes at a separate location. Many people during high school get to know their guidance consoler very well. They help them solve problems they are experiencing, whether it is with school or in life. I’ve never had the opportunity to get to know a person like that. After the move from Serra to Cypress, I’ve never had the same guidance consoler. For four years straight my guidance consoler has changed, this has been a struggle because I had trouble getting to know them. When it seemed I had become comfortable talking to them, the school year would end and a new consoler would be brought in and I would have to start that relationship over again. Throughout high school I’ve struggled with an adjustment in my schedule. In California, I had eight periods a day from 8:30AM to 2:45 PM Monday through Thursday. On Friday’s we ...
