...at but it was also tragic to some people, because it put them out of a job. Some people liked it because it gave them lots of money, but others were poor because of the invention. The cotton gin was invented by Eli Whitney in 1793. And then there was the steam engine, one of the most useful of all of the creations in the Industrial Revolution. This invention created a lot of energy and energy could be used for a lot of things. People used the energy to get around by boat and train, run factories, and stuff like that. The first steam train was invented by putting a steam engine on top of a cart and aligning it with some tracks. This fabulous creation was invented by Richard Trevithick in 1804. The Rich vs the Poor, or the people that were in poverty vs the people that were living the good life, the wealthy. The poor were living on the streets, getting anything that they could, like really poor paying jobs or a slice of bread. But there were a few people that weren't like this, they were the wealthy, the ones that had all the money that the poor should have. Then the monopoly law was created for the rich and the poor, so that the rich couldn't take over all the stores, and prevent others from profiting off of the people.
