Ancient vs. Mmodernistic Views
...e classic “eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth”. No matter what happened and how much you fought it, if you did something you were getting the same punishment or worse in return. Also during this time were the pharaohs and other kings. This idea of one absolute and holy ruler was very much in existence as the ruler was seen as a god. These are some of the worldviews of the Ancient world. If we fast-forward to the Modern worldview we will see some differences. One being the punishment, now if you do something you will pay a fine or spend time in jail, but you will not be given the same thing as you did in return. The punishment seems to fit and the punishment is still there. Also, you cannot be accused and be punished; it must be proven that you actually did what you are accused of. Religion and trust in people in general has risen dramatically, as now people trust others with stuff, and God is worshiped over individuals. Our leaders are highly respected people but they are not gods. They are not chosen by God but elected and chosen by the people as to who would serve best. These views have progressed to this view of the world. Similarities do exist though. The simple and basic laws such as murdering, stealing, and faithfulness to a spouse still are in existence.
