Captain Thomas Preston - 1763
.... Captain Thomas Preston during this year would have been 41 years old. Thomas Preston was born in Suffolk, England in 1722 however he did not stay there long. By the time he was 13 he had sailed to America. After stuggling for a few years, he joined the British Army. He rose thought the ranks until becoming a captain. When Chirstmas time came around in 1763, he recieved a Christmas card from a very important person. In Christmas of 1763, Captain Thomas Preston recieved a personal Christmas Card from King George III of England. The reason for King George III of England sending a Christmas Card to Captain Thomas Preston was because he fought in the Seven Years' War and made a big effort to become a Captain. He also sent this card because he is showing his thanks for serving the crown and to keep him in the army. Also, if the king is nice to the captain, the captain will tell the lower ranks how great a king he is. That in turn will make the king stronger because more of his subjects will like him. Als...
