...he future making sure we are not focused on the past. Every generation has to write their own books for the next generation to keep the knowledge current for the changing times. As books get older the information becomes less and less pertinent to the generation reading it. By passing the knowledge to the next generation, we are passing the information of the past to the students of the future. I have strongly agreed with Emerson at this point. When I first read a book, or a piece of literature, I have some idea of what I feel the author is trying to say. The more I read the book the more this opinion becomes formed and even changes. However, my idea does not become completely formed or great until I have read what others have said on the subject. This is for two reasons. First, it helps me look at the text from different point of views, and see things I did not see before. Secondly, it gives me a chance to see if my idea is indeed original. If it is not, it gives me a chance to either change, or even just slightly alter my view so as to something that has not been said before. For this reason it is very important to read as much literature as you can. The second reason to read more often is that through the books you can travel in your imagination. For example when I was a child, my parent alway read or tolk me stories about prices, castle or heroes. I imaged how they look and dreamed about them when I sleep. Children have not yet lost the ability of getting into their dreams, and because of this, in their first years the parents read a lot of tales in which they use their imagination. Adults should try to keep this ability, so we do not forget the importance of the use of the imagination. The imagination also represents a tool that could help you to develop your professional career in a creative way. “We spend more on almost any article of bodily aliment or ailment than on our mental aliment. He suggests that schools need a change in their system of teaching and learning so that children do not simply forget their education when they grow up.
