Reflection on Abortion
..., thus, immoral. One of the human act principles that prove this is, “If an act itself is intrinsically evil, the act is not morally allowable regardless of the intention and circumstances.” Looking back on the movies, doctors do abortion mainly for financial stability. This is, according to them, the only source of income they knew. However, they never thought what they do is killing an unborn and very innocent alive baby, that has the right to live and experience the beauty of life. The many abortions they do are evil and, hence, morally unacceptable in spite of their good intention to raise a stable family. The women, on the other hand, who had their baby inside their womb aborted reasoned many things. Some was motivated by the fear to face the responsibility of being a mother. They say that they are not yet ready to raise a child, but, why they did make the baby in the first place? Maybe they’ll say that they were just tempted to make love with their loved one. Still, they didn’t take precautions and didn’t think the consequences they might face after having premarital sex. Others may say that they were raped and that they had the baby aborted to escape from that such pitiful experience. This might look somewhat good intention but still, she had let the baby killed. Indeed, whatever circumstances the concerned person is in and the good intention he/she has, abortion is still immoral against the eyes of Christians. Obviously, abortion is a sin for it is an offense against God, against reason, truth and right conscience. It is disobedience to one of God’s 10 commandments, “Thou shall not kill”. With regards to the nature of abortion as a sin, its grave matter is very much heavy. Thus, abortion can be considered a mortal sin. It is a deliberate turning against God’s will. In abortion, before it is being done, the person/s concerned has full knowledge of what’s going to happen in abortion and its consequences. There is full and deliberate consent of free will but still they chose the wrong option. Abortion is a kind of murder, killing of an innocent baby, much more, it is still unborn. There’s nothing good in abortion. The fetus inside a woman is not just a tissue, it has already life and this life must be respected. Thus, killing that life is a gravely sin that no Christian can accept, with regards to its moral aspect. Anything, like abortion, that opposed human moral principles and God’s laws and will is a sin not allowable in Christian community, much more if it has heavy grave matter, regardless on the purpose it is done. Abortion is a sin that violated all four kinds of law stated in the book. It violated the natural law, particularly, the law of life, that all human beings has the right to live. Thus, killing a baby is not just stealing his life but also disrespecting his right to live. Abortion is against the divine law for it is against God’s plan to the baby and his mother. It is, most importantly, a violation of moral and human law. I’m sure that the person concerned had conscience that what they will do (which is abortion) is immoral and against their moral belief but they had weighed more the wrong conscience of aborting the baby for some confusing but invalid reason and intention. Abortion is immoral, in simple words, and thus, a violation of moral law. It is immoral for it is a mortal sin with a grave matter. It concerns human behavior which must not be taken into action for it will affect greatly his/her morality and dignity, which will take him to miserable life. Abortion is against human civil and Christian church law for in the first place, it is a murder which is considered highly unacceptable in Christian community. Abortion is a false or erroneous conscience that must not be followed. A woman, for instance, who got pregnant unwillingly may thought of abortion as a better decision for it is her right and she thought that this is her last chance to get away from her bad experiences and sins. She may follow this erroneous c...
