"Burn On Down" by Ben Harper is a song of our Genteration.

...as a drug addict. They sent her away to rehab and everyone at school new about it. When she came back she never was the same and it was apparent that this was a life altering experience that didn’t need to happen. I believe it labeled her and she lost a sense of herself when it should have been treated as a common teenage occurrence. It is very ironic that we live in a country that doctors prescribe millions of synthetic anti-depressants and mood stabilizers with our government’s enthusiastic support, when there is a safe natural plant that can relieve major anxieties and other medical issues, but is illegal and is seen as a harmful, evil drug. Ben Harper used his song writing ability and voice to advocate his strong view that is also shared with millions. He doesn’t believe that it is right to judge someone for what they do unless it’s harming something or someone. He starts off the song sharing a joint with a friend and details the entire experience and is able to compose his beliefs in a strait to the point yet deeply meaningful song. The fact that he is openly sharing himself to the world, he is helping people to realize that pot use is widespread, common, used by all classes of people, and is part of today’s society.
