It would be like freeing Iraq and then walking away before democracy is assured. Conclusion: The north fought the south only because the south seceded from the union. Their pride was hurt. The south was worse. They seceded because they feared the loss of slave ownership when in actuality the north never intended to stop slavery. In fact most agreed with owning some slaves. History portrays that even the Radical Republicans were more interested in revenge against white southerners than aiding freedmen. This is one white southerner who is glad that slavery is abolished and we are all free. This is also one white southerner who can not stand to hear the Democratic Left compare a civil rights issue of slavery with gay marriage. Even now it seems the vast majority of white leftists want to keep the freedmen in bay to use for their agenda as they see fit. I scream to disagree with them. Slavery is inhumane and the most shameful thing American ever instituted but to use this disgrace in comparison with a man marrying a man. a goat or whatever and a woman marrying a woman brings out the moral fury in this American and I hope it will bring out the moral fury in every freedmen in the United States of America and around th...
