Telecommunication systems used at my workplace
...l, voice conference and caller log. The voice mail has a disaster recovery backup system, which is a tape backup that uses SCSI interface connection to the PBX system. We also use unshielded twisted pairs Cat 5e cable (UTP) to wire between the wiring room and the users’ desk. There are several reasons why our internal communications have been very difficult. Our business office buildings are between a half-mile to two miles distances. We have employees that work outside of the office buildings and employees that travel to the client site. It is too costly to provide these employees a cellular phone. It is also impossible to have them carry two to three different communication devices besides their normal working tools. The second line is mainly used for our internet auction site. It is also being used as a backup for our main operations T1. We also have a fractional T1 data line with 12 channels provided from Chose One Communication that runs separately from our office data line. It is used to support our customers who need Internet access to VPN into their head quarters and online bidding. It is also used as our last resource on data replication between my site and home office. Ou...
