Global Slavery Is the Issue

...any, if any at all, lawsuits that are international; strengthening the idea of Americans being Amero-Centric. The issue today is reparations of present day blacks to receive payment, some form of back pay, (whether by tax breaks, social programs, or a check,) for their ancestor’s enslavement. Though, not directly being a slave themselves, nor those whom they sue are not slave owners. School such as Yale and Harvard are being attacked by these radicals; our employer’s are also undergoing investigations and allegations that they have benefited from the slave trade over 200 years ago. However, the slaves and the slave owners they have been debating on are all dead, at the time they are discussing, the 1800’s, it was legal to own slaves. On the other hand, these radicals feel that since it’s illegal now that they need payment for a wrongdoing that was not against them. I do not see what the problem is. The issue of blacks enslaved by whites before the Civil War should have been dismissed from the start. I will not pay for what I did not do. If we, as Americans truly feel we should do something about slavery, let us start here at home, we have Chinese girls being sold over the internet as sex slaves, some as young as the age of twelve (12). Yet, we have such a small about of slaves in our country that the media focuses on and exaggerates to show that we can not escape the reality or the indefinite possibility of slavery existing until the end of the human race. Our history books make it sound like America was this bad place because of this slave trade, but what they don't say is that less than ten percent of those in the slave trade came to America, most went to South America and then to their deaths. Those whom were enslaved were fortunate to go to America, where slaves actually would have a chance at life. The truth is we had slaves, we still do, and in all honesty I don't see an end to slavery because we are not facing the issues at hand, we are digging up the past and trying to find an easy way out.
