... through the way others treat us. Children grow up around adults- parents.Every day they get messa- ges about themselves, about the world around them and they start judge themselves. A child's self esteem will suffer if he is not appreciated. Children's self esteem will be higher if we treat them seriously and with respect. Critical parents are one of the most common causes of negative self- image. If parents tell a child often enough that he can't do anything right- his self esteem will be low and he will fail on many tasks. Another words if parents have the faith in their children they can do better. Parents can increase child's self esteem by telling him that they love him, by appre- ciating them, spending time with them, feeding them with positive encouragement. As parents in shaping children's self esteem the same important role in our adult's life play our friends, family members, teachers, husbands or wifes, employers and co-workers. So we are a product of our environment. As kids we can't choose our parents but as we grow up we can choose an environment in which we want to live, we can choose our friends, our jobs. When I came to America my first job was construction. Everyday after work ended my co-workers used to drink alcohol together.I don't like to drink so I refused it.
