...his darkness if one tries. Those who wander off the path, may have a hard time trying to get back on it, but eventually the light evens out with the dark and one can adjust. With Emily's reference to the night, she is addressing our desperation and depression. She talks of our inner darkness, meaning the depression, which lies within. Where as, the poem by Robert Frost suggests that there is no escape to dark, it is inevitable. Robert uses night to represent hardships in life and, like Emily, our own darkness.
