She is also indicated to be full of goodness and saintly. She shows samples of these especially thought her devotion to Christian beliefs and morality. However, is Rose’s life before Pinkie strong enough to withstand her true goodness during her lifetime with him? Rose shows devotion numerous times throughout the book to both good and evil. Foolish devotion to Pinkie becomes very obvious on page 110 where she says “… she opened the door she was as dumb and devoted as ever she had been.” Even thought that it has become blatantly obvious that he hates her by page 112 when Pinkie says to Rose “You’ll never be anything but good, there’s some that wouldn’t like you for that”. After that Rose still remains devoted to Pinkie as shown on page 114 where she says to him “I’d rather burn with you…” “I’ll do anything for you. Tell me what to do (page 127)”. Her devotion while touching will only do her harm because there is only one God and only that God a Christian should devote ones self to.
