...rought to life in the movie Psycho. He is tall, thin, and has dark hair. When he is nervous he seems to talk with a stutter and stumble over his words. He always seems a bit suspicious and weird when he is talking, like he is trying to cover something up. For instance, when Sam began asking him questions about Marion he got very uneasy and skeptical. This type of character is similar to many of Edgar Allan Poe’s characters such as in “The Raven”. Hop Frog was also a weird character that ended up killing the king who had ridiculed him and his beloved friend, Trippetta. Like Norman, who lost his both of his parents, Edgar Allan Poe’s parents also died when Edgar was young. Norman was haunted by his mother’s spirit because he killed her ten years before the movie takes place. In “Annabelle Lee” Poe writes about mourning the loss of a loved one and how her spirit will always be with him. Poe also married his 13-year-old cousin proving to be a little mad, just like Norman. The speaker in “The Raven” is very mysterious just as Hitchcock’s Norman Bates is mysterious, and you could even say a bit creepy. Psycho takes place in a rural roadside motel that hardl...
