Aside from physical body language, the physical appearance of a church causes visitors to make assessments about the church foundation. The body language of a church building speaks with great clarity and the message that is conveyed may not necessarily bring you much comfort. Three examples of this would be a church display board, notice boards, and motorized transportation. Everyone knows that a church display boards and notice boards should have the most current and update information regarding church events. What happens when you visit a church and you see that their display board is still detailing the Christmas Carol service in March. Either the church is way behind the pace or getting the message out early. Most observers will conclude the church lacks speed. The next issue is the church notice boards. For example, a new pastor was inducted last year sometime, the church board faithfully provides information about the previous pastor who has been long gone. One may ask themselves the question, how could putting up information about the pastor make any difference. It is almost if the new pastor has not arrived yet. From the perspective of the visitor, this would be shameful and more importantly embarrassing to the church. Last, the church bus that picks up young people for Sunday School and youth group. The churches name is in full view, well almost, apart from layers of mud and grime that are part of the presentation. No one can remember when it was last washed. At my place of employment, I have observed many body language gestures working at Blockbuster video. In my workplace there are customers from different races and of all ages entering the store on a daily doing the following: purchasing a movie, renting a movie, looking around, or asking questions. One of my jobs as an employee is to ensure that I am protecting our company assets. I can tell when someone is slick, sneaky, and sly. This is more commonly known as the thief. The layout of Blockbuster by design is unique because of the way everything is sectioned off in the store by different categories from drama, comedy, family, and action which is sometimes not in alphabetical order due to the lack of lazy customers putting movies back in the wrong section. For instance when I am straighting each section I notice numerous of dvd’s and tapes in the wrong spot, for example the movie Bowling for Columbine should be in the drama section not in the family section under the B’s.
