...th the decrease of racism there are fewer things to be strained about, making the worship of God less of a necessity and more of a hobby. Now a days I am still religious, but I am reluctant to say that I’m less religious that my ancestors. Education has always been a staple of society, however it has not been all to well a staple of my ancestors. I come from a long line males and females who never really got a chance to further their education, and in some cases never got one. In the past it was hard for my people to educate themselves. Many of my ancestors had to drop out of school to support the home. Hard work was needed to keep the members of the family afloat therefore education took a back seat occupation. Since my elders and ancestors never got their education off the ground they never held it as an important goal in life. Graduating grade school was the pinnacle. I on the other hand have totally different values. The pinnacle doesn’t stop at grade school. In fact I fully intend to attend graduate school. This is a value of mine that differs from values of past family members. I hold school as a pre-requisite to occupation, not as alternative. I am the very first of my family to attend a 4 year college or university. Hard work has always been a prized value in my family. It shows strong mental health and the drive to do what is needed to be done. That is one value that will never change. It may even be the pivot of my family tree. From the highest leaf on the tree to the lowest root into the ground, the drive to work hard stays the same. I encase this value as well.
