...ng I live for. I live, eat, breathe, think everything about abortion." To saying: I'm one hundred percent sold out to Jesus and one hundred percent pro-life," I like to say. "No exceptions. No compromise." Abortion clinics do not tell the person getting the abortion that she will most likely become depressed, angry, guilt ridden and as an added bonus there are the addictions that go along with trying to forget that she has just killed a baby. Abortion clinics are more about making money than helping women. The sheer number of testimonies found on the Internet proves this statement. One testimony in particular is by a woman by the name of Carol Everett, titled “A Walk Through An Abortion Clinic”. Her story begins with the following sentence: “The telephone is answered by an abortion salesperson who calls herself a "counselor." She only sells one product-abortion. The abortion clinic makes no money if a pregnancy is continued in any manner! The counselor has had extensive training to "help" this woman with "her problem." So how do we stop abortion? Through legislation? NO! There has not been one administration able to stop abortion. It cannot and will not ever happen. The following example is an excerpt from a debate between President Bush and Senator John Kerry from PR Newswire at www.prnewswire.com: PRESIDENT BUSH: Embryonic stem cell research requires the destruction of life to create a stem cell. I'm the first President ever to allow funding, federal funding, for embryonic stem cell research. I did so because I, too, hope that we'll discover cures from the stem cells and from the research derived. But I think -- I think we've got to be very careful in balancing the ethics and the science. And so I made the decision we wouldn't spend any more money beyond the 70 lines, 22 of which are now in action, because science is important, but so is ethics. So is balancing life. To destroy life to save life is one of the real ethical dilemmas that we face. There is going to be hundreds of experiments off the 22 lines that now exist, that are active, and hopefully we find a cure. But as well, we need to continue to pursue adult stem cell research. I helped double the NIH budget to $28 billion a year to find cures. And the approach I took is one that I think is a balanced and necessary approach, to balance science and the concerns for life. MODERATOR: Senator, thirty seconds, let's extend. SENATOR KERRY: When you talk about walking a waffle line, he says he's allowed it, which means he's going to allow the destruction of life up to a certain amount, and then he isn't going to allow it. Now, I don't know how you draw that line. But let me tell you, point-blank, the lines of stem cells that he's made available, every scientist in the country will tell you, not adequate, because they're contaminated by mouse cells, and because there aren't 60 or 70, there are only about 11 to 20 now, and there aren't enough to be able to do the research because they're contaminated. We've got to open up the possibilities of this research. And when I am President, I'm going to do it, because we have to. That little excerpt should speak volumes to you about how legislation will not change. Politics is full of sneaky and low down tactics. When a bill goes to the floor and is to be signed into effect, the powers that be will only sign it into law if certain other issues are attached, such as, funding for social services (aka Planned Parenthood or Women Helping Women). There is a grassroots effort underway for the pro-choice advocates. They are adamant to “recruit” people to their side. This strong opinion was found on the website www.socialistworker.org. “ON APRIL 25, tens of thousands of people will descend on Washington, D.C., to tell George Bush and the other politicians that we won’t go back. The anti-abortion bigots--led by the bigot-in-chief in the White House--are on the attack with further restrictions on women’s right to choose abortion. They won’t be satisfied until abortion is outlawed. Stopping them w...
