Breast Cancer Credibility
... its not unusual for everyone to know at least one person who has the disease. Therefore this affects us even if we’re not the one with breast cancer. Those who are close to someone with this disease will be more likely to contribute to the cause and be much more passionate about it than others. Knowing what I know about our class and the people in it, I think that Breast Cancer is an appropriate topic to speak about. It applies to the whole class because Breast Cancer can affect us all. Women are more at risk than men however 470 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year. This is a small amount compared to the 40,110 women who acquire this disease each year. Anyone is at risk although it usually strikes people who are past they’re mid 20’s in age. Knowing this it is unlikely that anyone in our class has ever had a problem with breast cancer but more than likely they know someone who has. With the enormous amount of people who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and the fact that is the 2nd leading cause of death for women it is something that we all need to be educated about. I believe that our class needs to be educated about breast cancer because more than likely they don’t know very much about the disease.
