I chose to read Tuesdays with Morrie because I heard that it was a very enjoyable book. I knew of some people that said they had read the book and they would recommend it to others. It is a good book and I’m glad I chose it because any person that reads it can learn something valuable. Since it is based on the personal experience of Mitch Albom, the author, it is a subjective book. Tuesdays with Morrie is easy to agree with because it contains so much wisdom expressed by Morrie that most people have not even thought about. Morrie is full of lessons to be learned by old and young people. For example, Morrie looks at life with an optimistic perspective and sees his own physical state, which is constantly decaying, as an inevitable process that he must approach with a positive attitude. He was not embarrassed when urinating became something he could not do alone, so he sometimes asked his colleagues if they would assist him. During an interview, Morrie was asked what he dreaded most. He responded with, “One day soon, someone’s gonna have to wipe my ass.” Needless to say, Morrie had a very unique outlook on life. I don’t think that Tuesdays with Morrie was meant to have a certain audience, because it is a great book for any age, teen to adult to read. I think that it would be of great use and comfort to people that are losing a loved one or have lost a loved one in the past. Mitch was of course very sad to eventually lose Morrie because he was a close friend, but Morrie reassured him. He told Mitch that, “Death ends a life, not a relationship.” I believe that is a beautiful thought ...
