...egin to spend time together like they did when they were younger and this leads to them kissing the night of his bachelor party. Dre still marries Reese but the uncertainty of their friendship remains. Dre and Sydney try to deny their feelings for each other but all it does is create chaos and controversy among friends and family members. Personality Theory: In the movie, Sydney and Dre’s Id, Ego, and Superego’s get in the way. Before Dre’s wedding, Sydney and Dre share a kiss and it throws off their whole outlook on their relationship. Although Dre still gets married, the feelings for Sydney are obviously there. While Dre is struggling with his reality and ego that he is married, he also is struggling with his Id (which is the pleasure he gets seeing Sydney) and his Superego (which is doing what’s morally right, being a good husband). Sydney struggles with her Id of wanting to be with Dre by denying it. Also, she struggles with dealing with the reality that she’s dating someone and doesn’t want to hurt him either. They learned how to become passionate about something and someone from their passion and love for hip-hop. Environmental/ Social Information: Both Dre and Sydney ended up working in the Hip Hop Industry. Dre was an A&R person for a record label and Sydney was the editor for XXL magazine, a prosperous hip-hop magazine. Both of them were destined to become involved in hip-hop later in life because of their environment that they grew up in. New York is where hip-hop started. Motivation: Dre and Sydney had two completely different motivations at the beginning of the movie but, by the end had the same motivation. Dre, although married, after realizing that Reese was not the one for him, he was determined to make things happen with Sydney regardless of her relationship situation. Sydney had came to the realization that Dre was married and in reality, they would not be together so she went on with her life and ended up dating a pro basketball player, Kelbe, that asked her to marry him. Once Sydney is engaged, Dre realizes that Sydney is the one that’s meant for him not Reese. Sydney makes things work between her and Kelbe until he gets fed up with her and Dre’s relationship. Sydney ends up breaking things off with Kelbe and tries to go work things out ...
