This is a time to have a full time job and learn the responsibilites of being an adult. You can also save up your summer job money to get a car, etc. Another reason why making the school year into a full year would be a bad idea is because summer vacation is where families spend quality time together. It's a time where if you are fortunate and lucky you can go on summer vacation. You can also meet new people and learn new things.
