Lend Me a Tenor Production Paper

...rough early 1930s. Some of the clothing should look like clothes done by Coco Chanel, Givenchy, and etc. During this time period, people had different outfits for the time of day, such as day and evening clothes. I want the characters to have day and evening outfits. The audience must get a feel that the characters in the play have a sense of style and that they are wealthy enough to afford this clothing. Some of the apparel worn should have a classy elegant look, especially the characters of Diana, Tito, and Maria. Maggie needs to have an innocent look to her. Even though she’s in her late twenties, her clothing should look school-girl, innocent like. Saunders needs to look like a wealthy businessman, because of the people he deals with, whom are stars. Max has to somewhat wear what Saunders is wearing, but a notch below that because Max is indeed still young and he works under Saunders, so he cannot be dressed better or like Saunders. Julia needs to look classy as well, even though she is old age, she is the chairwoman of the guild and needs to look successful. The bellhop needs to look like a typical bellhop of the time, a look that looks somewhat like the bellhops in the Hollywood Tower Hotel. The Othello outfit should be the flashiest and most noticeable outfit of the play. The two characters of max and Tito should both look good in the outfit, and it should have a lot of padding and layers making the person wearing the Othello costume look tough. I want the costume to look very detailed, however at the same time it needs to be made so the actors can quickly and easily change in and out of it. The wig used for the Othello costume should be a funny looking wig, to emphasize the humor of the play. This is an example of something that Diana would wear, something that hugs her body and shows the features of her body making men go head over heels for her. http://www.fashion-era.com/stylish_thirties.htm Julia can be wearing clothes something like this. It looks classy, successful and looks like she is a chairwoman. http://www.fashion-era.com/stylish_thirties.htm For the sound and audio, some sort of Italian opera music should be used for the characters of Tito and Max to sing. So when those two sing, it should look like they are really singing. When the parts of the play become sexual, the music should change, giving the audience a feeling that it’s a funny part. It is up to the sound designer to chose whichever piece he feels that is appropriate for the humorous parts, but the music should be opposite of the Italian opera mix. I also believe that bells should be used during the parts where Maggie claims she hears the bells, which again will emphasize on the humor of the play. Makeup should be natural, except for Diana’s and Tito’s character. Diana needs to look more made-up and sexy. Her appearance reflects the person she is, so the audience has to be able to catch that, so her facial features should be extenuated. Tito’s character needs to have black paint for their faces, so the black makeup should be something that can be wiped off easily for fast costume change, and it has to be easily smudged so during the part where Max and Maggie kiss, the makeup will smudge on her face. The special effects that I would like to use will show the comedic of aspects of the play. Some parts I believe that are appropriate to have special effects on would be when Tito and Max are singing. They can look like they are karaoking, so I need that to be done in some way, whether it’s by computer or projections, the characters should look like they are karaoking. Since there are many doors and rooms in the hotel suite, the audience may not know which door is the bathroom, since Diana spends a lot of her time there waiting for Tito, the audience should be able to identify the bathroom, so a bubble machine or something should be used, so when the door is opened, bubbles will come out, showing that Diana is having a bubble bath and is waiting for Tito. 3. Casting (A) The characters in this play are very important to the production, so...
