After discovering that her good friend Kitty will be going to the hospital, Laura kissed Kitty very deeply to show that she was a part of her and that she was worried about her health. Laura was also suicidal and always knew that Kitty understood her as they were both neighbors and of course women. Clarrisa was the third women who once had a boyfriend from college, Richard. After Richard was diagnosed with AIDS, Clarissa found herself a lesbian life partner whom she felt comfortable living with. Clarissa’s relationship out of all three was most realistic and long-term. My personal experience relates to the film because of my confusion about my sexual identity. Differently than the three characters, I never had any relationships, I am worried about who I really am. My life is confusing and strange, so why would anyone want to hear about my personal experience? I am writing this paper like a journal, similar to a diary entry, making this personal and confidential. It all goes back to my first year of high school. Coming from a private school, high school was a big change for me. In the 8th grade, I had many friends and suddenly in ninth, I had nobody. Lacking mental support, I did not have a girlfriend or anyone to be with which put my gender identity in jeopardy. Since I was all alone, I did not know who I was. I believed that I could not know my sexual identity until I have a physical relationship with someone. I was thinking that I might be gay; I had no feelings towards women, and I did not care for them. After school, I would go home, sit by my computer and that would be the end of my day.
