Womens Rights
...ents relating, directly or indirectly, to women. Second, you would think that as time goes on, there would be more equality between men and women. Unfortunately, trends are moving in the other direction. In Ellen Goodman’s essay “Justice for Women,” she writes “In one speech after another, President Bush has described the liberation of women as an American value worth fighting for” (133). Therefore, if that is the case than why is it that women’s rights have not been observed in some countries as much as expected? In some places claims were made that women’s rights would be respected more, yet policies are sometimes not changed enough or at all, thus still undermining the rights of women. This is not the first time that innocent people have been sexually harassed by village juries, but it sure as heck better be the last. Furthermore,I am shocked, disgusted, and I cannot believe some of the things that are happening in the world we turn our back on or are selectively blind to. Discrimination and harassment against women occurs because women are entering in an all male dominated area in which, some areas are still restricted because of it. In addition, discrimination is believed to be increasing, but one must remember a lot of discrimination goes unreported. It is a shame that women are afraid to report cases for fear of being without human rig. Furthe...
