O brave new world

...iters view of the world was ‘Go Ask Alice’, written by the pen of a fifteen year old anonymous girl. This book was a very dramatic story, of which a young girl began writing at young age until her death. This book was not just any old story, it was a story that a girl wrote in a diary on the happenings in her in every day life (situations). When she died her parents found the diary and anonymously published it. It was not only the story of what happened too this girl, not only what she faced but it touched on something that was and is happening to millions of adolescents around the world to this day. It was story of how a fat and ugly girl tried to better herself by making herself skinny and prettier in the eyes of her piers. She created a mask to hide behind. She put to much thought and was pressured into believing that her outward appearance was the most important thing. This is a typical problem that faces many of are teens especially in today’s world. What the story is mainly about how a young teen faces problems with her popularity and would do anything to be popular and ‘cool’. So she starts taking drugs and drinking alcohol. She also starts sleeping around. This is a very real problem in today’s world; people are all trying to better outward appearances towards others. There is more pressure on the adolescents now days to look better and better. To get thinner and thinner, it is a real situation that faces everyone including adults. There were many movies that show what the directors or writers think about this brave new world. These being Fahrenheit 9/11 and bowling for columbine but these two movies both have the same basic story lines. Basically that America is the greatest world power and that they are just looking for as much power and money as they can get, even if it means killing innocent people. So I decided to focus not on how these people view the world we live in today but on how this person views the way that this world will end up in the not to distant future. This movie is called i-robot, this is a movie of how robots are created by humans to protect humans but instead start to ignore the human’s rights and try to protect humans and keep them safe by trying to keep them away from each other. This shows that our greatest enemy is ourselves; as can be seen in the world today. The writer of this movie views the world changing in a dramatic way, at first the change is for the better, but soon after the creations that were first used in the hopes to better help mankind turns on its creators and soon the protector becomes the enemy. I thought that illustrated perfectly how, greed and peoples own personal quests for power and money influence today’s world and how we will ultimately self destruct unless this can be put to a halt. Otherwise the world will be one without human emotion, as it is this that is our downfall as well as the only thing worth saving about us. I recently read an article on George W. Bush in a time magazine. It was on how the American people view him as a president and how he views his decisions on invading Iraq and why he did so. This showed me that his view of the world was that material items such as money and oil are more important than the lives of a fellow human being. As he sent in thousands of men into Iraq ju...
