macbeth, the witches

...they are violent and don’t care about anything else as the second witch says that she was ‘killing swine’ suggesting that she killed them for no reason. We also learn that the witches have power of the elements ‘I’ll give thee a wind,’. We also learn about their appearance as described by Banquo, ‘So withered and so wild in their attire, that look not like th’ inhabitants o’ the earth.’ ‘By each one her choppy fingers laying upon her skinny lips: you should be women, and yet your beards forbid me to interoperate that you are so.’. The witches are withered suggesting that they are very old, there clothes are wild like they are not from this earth, which makes us think that they are inhuman which makes them sound even more suspicious. The witches have choppy fingers and skinny lips, which would suggest that they are very skinny and bony which is unnatural. Banquo also suggests that they are unattractive and unfeminine. This is the first time the witches meet Macbeth and the first thing Macbeth says echoes the words of the witches, ‘So foul and fair a day I have not seen’, confirming that when they meet Macbeth that thing will not be as they seem. Also the witches call Macbeth by three different names; ‘All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, Thane of Glamis’, ‘All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, Thane of Cawdor’ and ‘all hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, that shalt be king thereafter’, the witches are predicting Macbeth’s future again. They also tell Banquo that his sons will become kings. The three sisters are capable of leading people into danger resulting in death, such as the sailor who never slept (Act I, Scene III, ll.1-37). Lady Macbeth has convinced her husband Macbeth to murder King Duncan. On the night they planned to kill Duncan, Macbeth is waiting for Lady Macbeth to ring the signal bell to go up the stairs to Duncan's chamber. He sees the vision of the floating dagger. The interest of the dagger is that it leads Macbeth towards the chamber by the presence of evil of the dagger being covered with blood. Then the bell rings and Macbeth stealthily proceeds up the staircase to Duncan's chamber and murders him. Once the murder has been committed, Banquo has his suspicions about Macbeth killing Duncan to have power of the throne. This makes Macbeth And Lady Macbeth worry and fear builds up inside of them, that someone might find out that they murdered Duncan so decide that they should have Banquo killed and his son killed so no one can take the throne away from him. Once the murderer notified Macbeth that the deed was done, Macbeth and his wife attend a banquet in which a ghost of Banquo appears. He observed the ghost sitting in his regular seat, which caused Macbeth to act in a wild manner, making people suspicious of his actions and suspect that he committed the murder.
