... clear that any dishonesty or breaking of God’s commandments would not be tolerated. He set a good example. Not only did he teach us right from wrong, but, dad taught us that money didn’t grow on trees. He taught us that it took work to pay the bills and he frequently worked extra to pay our bills. Bankruptcy was for losers– real men worked until their families were provided for and the bills were paid. In My Father’s eyes women were special. They were the weaker sex– but not in a chauvinistic way. The man earned the money and the woman generally took care of the kids. Mom was always dropped off at the door and dad always did the walking in the rain if we were out at the Plaza. I can remember my father frequently opening the car door for my mother or gong out of his way to make sure that mom was cared for. He was, and to a point, still is the type of man that any woman should be happy with. My Father taught me to see through his eyes. I could never fill his shoes, but, some of his traits were passed down to me. Perhaps some of his traits will be part of my boys’ characters. It was by observation and discipline that I learned from dad. Now, as an adult, I am trying to learn once more. I am trying to learn to see through my Heavenly Father’s eyes. Of course, there is no chance of ever filling His shoes, but through observation and discipline we can all learn to be more like our Heavenly Father; and, with patience, we can pass some of our Heavenly Father’s traits unto our children and grandchildren. What do we know about our Heavenly Father? What kind of relationship does He want with us. What are the blessings from walking close to the Lord? Are we qualified to be son’s of God? In My Father’s Eyes I. Our Heavenly Father wants a close relationship with us. Abba- equivalent, which is translated "father." It is a term expressing warm affection and filial confidence *Romans 8:15 (KJV) For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. *Ga 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father *2 Corinthians 1:2 (KJV) Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. II. Our Heavenly Father wants to Share His Riches With Us. *The Riches of His Grace- Ephesians 1:7 (KJV) In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; *The Riches of His Glory– to Strengthen- Ephesians 3:16 (KJV) That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; *The Riches of His Glory– to supply needs-Philippians 4:19 (KJV) But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. *Do you know you have already been given something special, POWER, Acts 1:8 (KJV) But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
