...isney. His first job was working for his father as an unpaid paperboy. He had to deliver the papers at 4:00 in the morning each day. After he got done with that, he had to go to school. When he got home from school, he had to work around the house or in the farm. As you can see, his father gave him no time for friends or play. His mother finally talked Elias into letting Walt take drawings lessons at the Kansas City Art Institute. After finishing the lessons, he started working with his uncle creating cartoons for a newspaper. His father made Walt give all the money he made to him. Walt hid half of his paycheck to use later on his cartooning career. One of Walt’s greatest creations was Mickey Mouse. When he first created Mickey, he wanted to call him Mortimer Mouse. His girlfriend convinced him to change the name from Mortimer to Mickey. Mickey Mouse caused a great rise of cartoonist all around the world trying to do what he did. It brought the cartoon industry to a whole different level and no one could ever have better success than that of Walt’s Mickey Mouse. Walt had many other great inventions. He designed many other cartoons and amusement parks. He created Donald Duck, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, Cinderella, and many other cartoon characters. He also created the Magic Kingdom and designed much of Disney World. He could not finish the creation of Disney World because of his old age and his death. Walt loved to make children smile and make them amused. He had a mind like one of a child’s. He based all of his work on what children wanted. When he had children, he always read to them and told them stories. He spent as much time as possible with children. Many children wanted to be like him and work harder to secede. He wanted to let children enjoy their childhood and have a better one than he had. He is admirable in many ways. His success showed that even people that grew up in bad homes could succeed in life. He didn’t have a very good father but he still accomplished his dreams. He started out his career in a small corner getting minimum wage. He hardly had enough money to have a decent living.
