Medicianl Marijuana
.... Doctors in some states can prescribe it, people can grow and use it in some states, but because federal law prevails, if they are caught and federally prosecuted, they will be jailed. Records indicate that 99% of all marijuana arrests in the nation are made by state and local officials, not federal officials. Therefore, if the state laws were properly worded,the state laws could effectively protect 99 out of every 100 medical marijuana users who are continuously prosecuted. There are many diseased that are already proven to be helped by the use of medical mafijuana. It has been proven to benefit many patients in the treatment of cancer, AIDS, glaucoma, anorexia, chronic pain syndrome, arthritis, migraine headaches and has also been shown to help patients recover from the effects of chemotherapy more quickly. I cannot understand the whole mind-set on this issue. Have you read the paper lately? More people seem to be addicted to government approved pain killers, such as oxycontin, roxicodone and many other types of pills that are mass produced by pharmaceutical companies. These pharmaceutical companies are the same companies, who I am sure contribute millions of dollars each year in the form of political campaign contributions. But yet it is okay for these pills to be supplied without end to people who need them but if these same people are caught with a small amount of marijuana they are arrested and treated like a criminal. Our government feels that as long as we have a prescription for a particular narcotic, it is okay to zone out on this stuff because they have their hands in the pot and are getting something from the use and sale of these “legal drugs.” Just think about how much marijuana is seized coming into this country. They show it being burned on the news, 1000's of pounds of this stuff. Why can’t they test and distribute it for medicinal purposes? Marijuana cannot be any worse for these people to use to treat their illness. A member of my family was being treated for an illness. They were put on morphine and had so many side effects that it made them physically ill. Morphine,vicodin, oxycontin, roxicodone, Tylenol #3, all of these are addictive. So what’s the big d...
