How Biology Relates to Everyday Life

...en we studied plants on a molecular level and found that they don’t eat food like animals but make their own food with photosynthesis. My fourth example is when we studied bacteria and found that bacteria can grow an almost any environment. When the conditions are right they can grow and multi very quickly, we also learned that there are many different kinds of bacteria, some that are harmful and some that are health ful. An example of one that is harmful and one I looked up on it was called streptococcus it causes many illnesses with a wide variety of symptoms. I didn’t know one tiny bacteria could do so much. We also learned about how genetic traits are passed on from generation to generation and some traits are dominant while others are recessive. It helped me to understand that even though one parent may have a disease or a trait such as shortness it may not get passed on to their children or it may be a recessive trait and it may not show itself in the child. My seventh example is mRNA and tRNA they showed how are body and animals and plants bodies created new cells so we can grow and replace old dead cells while still retaining the same look and shape and genetic code.
