What is Dishonesty
...e things to me and I know it hurts. Most of these things have happened to me in sports. I have had coaches make me think I was going to get to do something I didn’t and I’ve also been cheated in sports. The time I was hurt the most was when I was deceived by a girl. Even though I’m not proud of this, I have deceived my parents at times so I wouldn’t get in trouble or so I could do something. For me, being deceived has been the worst part of dishonesty I’ve experienced. There are some people I have met that I believe just live their life being dishonest to everybody they know and meet. These people have a lack of honesty and integrity, which is a major part in being dishonest. I use to consider some of these people I met my friends until I realized how dishonest they really are. Those people did nothing but lead me astray and into trouble. One of the people I considered a friend at the time almost lead me into doing some very bad things. Although I didn’t do it, my parents found out what that so-called friend did and they began questioning my honesty. During that time I lost a lot of trust my parents had for me. Through that experience I learned that the more you are around these dishonest people, the more dishonest you become and appear to other people. The last thing and most common thing people do that makes me consider them dishonest is lying. Lying and deceiving almost have the same definition. Webster’s New Collegiate Dictionary states lying is “to make an untrue statement with intent to deceive; or to create a false or misleading impression”. I am sure that ...
