The Social Groups of High School
... comes to mind. Often jocks and cheerleaders receive special treatment, which causes animosity between other peers. This special treatment causes them to have a superior thinking mind frame. Thinking in this manner, often leads to the teasing of social groups which are believe to be inferior to them. One group in particular is the honors students. Hatcher 2 Honors student is just another name given to nerds in high school. Most people believe honor students are this super smart, low self-esteem, thick glasses wearing teenagers; who lives revolved around getting into the popular group. But for the most part, people failed to realize that honor students have the majority rule. They are considered the cream of the crop, often voted most likely to succeed. Honor students are the reason why jocks are able to continue to play sports. Seven months out of the year is athletic season. It’s within this time period that nerds are in control. During this time most nerds use reverse psychology, making jocks their puppets. Nerds usually lead jocks into thinking that nerds have no choice but to do the jocks’ school assignments. In exchange for doing the jocks’ assignments, honors students become popular. Even though the honors students are very intelligence, a small percentage is ridicule more than others. This social group is known as the drama club. The drama consists of honor students and art students. They are often portrayed as the outsiders or the lowest group on the social pyramid. Most can be categorize by their Gothic-like appearances and multiple piercing. They are usually ridiculed because of this choice of clothing. Their up-keeping is often a socking sight for most on-lookers. Even though this social group is the most torment, the majority is rich in culture. They are able to speak a variety of languages and have a superior taste in art. Drama members are more likely to interact better outside their culture barrel. Though these three...
