In USA they usually only have self-loyalty because they think that you can only trust in yourself if you want to get far and be successful. A third example is that in Mexico people usually avoid personal competition because they prefer harmony at work, to have friends, to spend a good time at work and to not have enemies, but in USA “Americans believe that competition brings out the best in any individual. They assert that it challenges or forces each person to produce the very best that is humanly possible” (Kohls 3) and people are motivated by ambition and enjoy competitive situations A different value that Mexico and United States have in common is their nationalism. These two different cultures are nationalistic in different ways. For example, in USA they are proud about their way of life and their freedom. If there is a war, they are united; if there is a tragedy, everyone is sad. In Mexico they are proud of their history and traditions have a lot of commemorative festivals about everything important to them as a country. A second example would be that in USA if there are problems, they are happy to serve their country; it doesn’t matter if their own lives are in risk. Their family is usually second in cases like that. Mexicans think that everyone is going to hurt them. They don’t trust politicians nor want to be part of something that is related to the government.
