...et’s go in!” It is Christmas Eve and it is a family tradition to spend it with family at my aunt’s house. It is very rare that snow makes a Christmas Eve appearance. As my son grabs my hand and races mw to the door, my husband, arms full of presents, shut the trunk and brings up the rear. As we near the front door of my aunt’s house I see the beautiful array of Christmas lights on the house. Red, green, blue, they light the evening snowfall like fireworks on the fourth of July. As we enter through the front door we are greeted not only with hugs and hellos. We are greeted with the warmth and joy exploding from her home. My Aunt Elsie takes our coats and places then in the closet as we arrange our gifts under the tree to exchange later. We exchange hugs and good tidings with my mom, dad, cousin Mo, and cousin Andy and all of our family on the way to the dining room. As we near the dining room, which is right off the kitchen our noses are filled with the scents of Christmas Eve dinner. The dining room is arranged in a buffet style with sausages, meatballs, buns, hot-dogs roll ups, Lebanon bologna roll ups and Aunt Elsie’s famous secret recipe potato salad and all the baked goods imaginable. We load our plates to fill our bellies in the living room near the Christmas tree.
