...begins. Mr. Jackson’s first period class is regular English II. He teaches two regular English II classes, two English honors classes and one Inclusion class. Shadowing Mr. Jackson has shown me the many important responsibilities and difficulties of being a teacher. All of his classes use the same book. Even though they use the same book and are taught basically the same material, the classes are taught in a totally different way. The different classes have different learning levels. The honors classes are taught at the highest level. The regular level classes are the second highest. The inclusion class has the students that would normally be in special education classes. Mr. Jackson carefully plans each lesson. He creates hand-outs and projects. He also provides examples for his lessons. The honors level and regular level are taught pretty similar, honors is harder. The inclusion class needs more attention and help. Mr. Jackson must provide them with work banks on tests and teach at a slower more watered-down rate. Mrs. Smith comes in the inclusion class three times a week to provide more help to the students who need it. A teacher not only teaches but has other duties such as In School Suspension and Lunch Duty. The work day for a teacher does not end when the final bell rings. Some days there is after school tutoring. There is also lots of night work such as lessons, quizzes, and tests to prepare and correct. In my opinion teaching i...
