Separate But Equal
...t might cause them, but they continued on anyway. The basic facts of the case were that the blacks were not being treated fairly, and that segregation prevented them from ever being equal. The blacks claimed that segregation made the little black kids feel in superior to the little white kids. The white claimed that even though they might feel this way that is they way it has always been and that even though they felt that way they ended up to be just fine when they were older. But, still the blacks could not see how everything seemed equal to the whites. Even the judge in the courtroom saw that the schools were not fair, but their decision was much harder than it appeared. They had to make a decision whether or not to integrate the schools. This ruling would affect the world to high standard, it would affect the future, the question was what were they going to decide. A tough decision for the court was to get an unanimous vote because if they had a split vote it would seem that they had different values. It would seem to the people that the court was confused in the ruling. A unanimous decision would make the decision look better, and Chief Justice Warren wanted the court to be united. He had a hard time with one of the justices, but managed to get him to agree with the majority. I have never dealt with segregation in my life, I have only heard stories about the tragic way the blacks had it before desegregation.
