...t life is all about. As long as you have yourself and your soul you are rich. I believe that Thoreau wants everyone to live there life simple, and do things for yourself. “If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with success unexpected in common hours (303).” There are many ways of analyzing this quote too. In the second quote he is telling you that you should always follow your dreams. What ever you imagine your life to be you should never loose site of it. If you never loose site of your dreams, you will find success when you are least expecting it. “Simplify Simplify Simplify” is what he would say. The senses that we are born with are a gift and once you learn how to use them you are rich. In Walden we read a chapter all about sound. This is not something you can buy but something most have. He finds sound to be very rewarding. He is living by himself in the woods and he learns all about himself. He stops the busy life and just listens. This I believe is something everyone should do. Thoreau also believes this is something everyone should do. They should always take time out of there life with out the cars and the houses and clothes just to find themselves. Thoreau also believes that you need to find nature in order to find yourself. He sees ants battling red ants vs. black ants and creates this whole war scene. He compares nature and things in nature to all of the horrific things that go on in human’s lives. You need to be able to step away from your life and see others. Like those lives of different animals or objects in nature. Thoreau is also very against technology he believes that the industrial revolution is a very bad thing. It is ruining nature as well as making people into machines. It is putting all of them into a routine. The railroad is being made and ruing nature. All of the land is now different. They are knocking down trees and killing nature in the process of trying to make there lives “easier” but really all they are doing is co...
