Most of these young women’s careers never get past the freelance stage. An actress can spend most of their entire youth and still never get a contract with a big company like Vivid Video; the chances are one in a million for a freelance actress to get a contract. The freelance stage is probably the hardest and damaging point in an actress’s career. This is also where the most physical and mentally strenuous sexual acts occur, for example gangbangs and sodomy. Not only do these women have to worry about what happens on film, but also as they gain popularity among the pornographic market they have to worry about men who are obsessed with the image they portray on screen. Some of these men may become so obsessed they become really huge threats in an actress’s life. In most extremes most of these women have several restraining orders on different men. Some even have to face jealous husbands or boyfriends at home that will stop at nothing to prevent their partners from venturing out to this industry. For example Playboy Playmate Dorothy Stratten who was killed at the young age of 20 by her separated husband. If these women aren’t even safe from their husbands or boyfriends, what is stopping a deranged fan from harming them or even killing them? Pornography now and in the past has not really changed much, the reason we think it has changed is because we are finding out about more extreme versions of porn. These extremes have always been around but they have never really been talked about.
