...ic that would make me happy, lyrics that spoke about things I can relate too, not about things I couldn’t understand. Shortly after my taste for music developed into something different than from what it was before. I began to listen to more upbeat bands like The Strokes, The Sounds, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Le Tigre. I went from listening to metal, to listening to Indie, Garage Rock, Electro Punk, and Post Punk. One day a few of my friends and I decided to start a band. Our main goal was to save the world from the "emo" invasion. We also wanted to express the love and passion for music that we all shared. We each put in our own unique taste to make the music we all, but somehow that wasn’t enough. Along with my love for music I also share a love for writing. I felt there had to be a way for me to somehow express my love for music through writing. Shortly after, I began to write songs for the band that I was in, I felt overjoyed when I would express my feelings through my lyrics. I was looking through one of my music magazines one day when I read an article about one of Spins head writers named Mark Spitz. He traveled all over the world interviewing different bands and spending numerous days with them, either on the road or in a hotel room. I finally realized this is what I wanted as a career. It was then when I realized I wanted to be a journalist. I began writing fake articles about my favorite bands like The Strokes, The Sounds, and Le Tigre.
