In a prior study, they found that children adopted before the age of one, into high income families displayed especially large IQ gains by adolescence. Another Great example of Nurture is the “Wild Boy of Aveyron”. He was discovered in France around 1799. He was a 12 or 13-year old boy who was found running naked in the woods, mute, wild, and evidently out of contact with humans for most of his life. He seemed to be unable to become fully human despite all efforts. He learned how to mimic words, but he never reached the potential of a normal person. This might show how human environment is essential for human intelligence. Those on the nature side of the debate argue that a person is born with a mental ability. Arguing that a person's environment plays no role in their development. Those who believe more in the nature explanation believe that a person is born with a potential and a person's environment does not determine one's personality.
