An Illustrated Fallacy
...echnology “a personalized life and power.” Where’s the fallacy? It is within the fact that I gave what is known to be machinery or tools “a force.” Now, let’s focus on this bold statement I just made – technology will turn all of us lazy! How? Well, for starters over the past few decades simple, but energy demanding jobs have been replaced by machines. During the agricultural revolution workers were required to walk miles in fields while planting or picking – they were required to work, PHYSICALLY. Now, crop growing is done in factories where workers mainly sit in chairs and push buttons all day long. Then comes work in the household. Simple tasks such as washing dishes and clothes have been replaced by dishwashers and washers & dryers. So scrubbing pots and rubbing & hanging clothes are no longer needed. Even vacuums replaced sweeping and banging out rugs. ALSO computers used to type papers (like this one) are making all of us lazy. Misspelled words are corrected with the click of a button, and the actual art of writing itself is replaced by a keyboard.
