It takes risks without looking back. Leadership also refers to influencing others, meaning one has to have good communication with lots of people. It involves aligning people by checking their understanding and looking for motivational issues to satisfy basic human needs. Leadership is also having the ability to cope with change. The differences between management and leadership will continue to grow, because the corporate world keeps changing. Advance technology is making management concepts change and keep up with the world’s new trends. Thinking back ten years ago the Internet was barely heard of. Now in today’s society people and business act like they cannot survive without it. To management the Internet plays a key role in its operation. Instead of making many phone calls, businesses can send out one e-mail to everyone. E-business has hit the global trend. It is now considered as the staple for most companies. “The emerging dynamics of the net and knowledge management are not only redefining the nature of work, organizations and business, but are also impacting the validity of several roles and functions of entities such as governments.” (Benjamin, Robert) There will be more emerging management concepts in the future. I believe the four functions of management will only change slightly in the future. Our world is always in a constant change. Thus, making our functions of management to change as well. We know that the functions of management are planning, organizing, leading and controlling. With the world having new advance technology, changing demographics including and aging and vast diversity in the workforce the functions of management will change. I think in the future the functions of management will consist of planning, organizing, staffing, directing and controlling. This will be known as the five functions of management. With the diversity in our workforce staffing will play a key component. “Organizing is divided into organizing and staffing so that the importance of staffing in small businesses receives emphasis along side organizing.” (Erven L.
