...cession crossroad. Nomadic people were able to survive better in war than more advanced civilizations because they knew the land better than those other civilizations. They were able to survive in more extreme weather conditions better than the other civilizations because they were used to them.The Mongols invade Japan in 1279. § It is believed that the Empire began when Temujin was declared Genghis Khan in 1206 A.D. The Mongols were a very powerful civilization. The strong force allowed it to overpower and conquer many other empires throughout present day Asia. Since they were nomadic people they knew the territory more and knew secret ways of the land. They also survived more harch weather and were able to live off of eating home grown food. On the way to invade Japan the Mongols came across a typhoon which took two-thirds of the work force. This led to the downfall of the Mongols....
