Greatest Achievement
.... Working at the day care was an experience that cannot be described using one word. My time at the Child Development Center was fun, crazy, and challenging. The work was fun because I was the teen helper for twenty kids, and they all thought that I was their personal playmate. The kids were all so cute, especially this little girl who called me mommy. Even though I had a good time, the job was hard because it was not all fun and games; I had to change diapers, clean up spills, and break up fights between the toddlers. What made that so hard was the fact that the diapers could not be changed any kind of way and parents were quick to blame you if their child had a bruise from a fall. My volunteer work was crazy because there were five ladies in the room. It was my job to help all of them; so I spent eight hours every day running back and forth. It was not that bad because I got lots of exercise and I really learned how to manage my time to be able to help all of them and not be worn out afterwards. The day care experience was also a little crazy because sometimes the kids could get wild. Some days, a few of the kids would not be feeling well and they would cry. This would cause all the other kids to cry. There would be a lot of noise and everyone would be stressed, and I had to spread myself out and calm the room down. In every day care, there is always one kid who always terrorizes the staff. At my day care, he just happened to be in my room. His name was Armand, and he was the room ringleader. He had all the little kids following in his footsteps. He would start food fights, regular fights, take kids= toys, and throw things. Needless to say, Armand was my special assignment.
