After moving to Haworth , her mother died soon after the sixth child was born. > In 1824 the two eldest went off to a boarding school called Cowan Bridge School. They both died of tuberculosis, probably because the school not a good one. Charlotte Bronte was the eldest of the remaining four children. The brother, Brawell, was next in age to her.
