It effects heart arteries, hormones, the liver, bones, blood, immune system, lungs, kidney, makes high risk of lung cancer, and causes birth defects. Cadmium is not the only harmful pollutant produced by medical waste. Dioxin is the most toxic chemical known to science. It is formed by burning chlorine-based chemical compounds with hydrocarbons. Dioxin can be found in paper mills, back yard burning barrels, and waste burning incinerators of many sorts. It has deadly effects on animals. Some of these effects include major weight loss, enlargement of the liver and death of the liver tissue, skin lesions, reproductive toxicity, birth defects, cancer, and death. There are sixteen grams of dioxin and thirty to forty pounds of cadmium formed yearly. Many procedures are being made to reduce the amount of toxic waste polluting the world. Laws have been made in many states to regulate the medical waste. One law says that the waste should be properly disposed by incineration in regulated medical waste incineration facilities. If the waste is liquid then it can be properly disposed of in sewage dumps. Another way that medical waste can be properly dispose of is by autoclave. These are all good ways to properly dispose of them but I myself have some ways to dispose of the waste. I believe that there should be a disinfectant factory.
