What You See and Others don't!
...mments and when I turn around, I see the airbrushed T- shirts with accusations they feel are true about me. Although I know if I was anyone else this type of treatment would result in a confrontation but the true irony is – I do have the urge but I don’t let it phase me. I am not scared or in denial that comments hurt me; the truth is that if surmise to their assumptions about me then it makes me no better than them. Sorry to disappoint you but “your not worth the time and effort.” I’ll tell you what’s worth my time and effort: my education. I want to go to college and be able to take care of my family once I graduate. To do this, right now I need to focus my time on my studies - not on people who I won’t ever see again. I plan to help the people who can’t help themselves. I want to help the impaired and the old. I only hope that one day I will be able to walk these Willingboro hallways and for once have no one scrutinized me for assumptions that were created to hold me back from my goals.
