... hang, he could not bring himself to put his name on that paper. His reasons were selfish, and he acted incredibly stubborn instead of like a man. He refused to swallow his pride, like a real man would have done in order to be there for his family. What others say, he thought and what he signed to were not the same thing. He was worried only about his pride at that moment, and forgot the one and most important thing, and reason we are here on this earth for: to live. Life is what we are here for, and Proctor just threw his away, putting his dignity in front of the love of his wife and children, who would now grow old without a husband and father. Had Proctor been given more time to decide what his destination would have been, maybe then he would have thought more about his family and friends as opposed to himself, by signing his name to his confession. Proctor let the worry of what the town would think of him guide his decision down the wrong path. It was foolish of him to care so much about what other people thought of him as to let it take his life. Knowing in his own heart, along with those of friends and certainly family should have been enough to shy away from the cowardliness that his fin...
